Ending of an Era

Last night members of Theatre Strike Force elected a new executive board, and, according to our centuries old tradition, we will have a peaceful, tear-laden transfer of power later this week—but our glorious experiment in democracy will live on! Your new board will introduce themselves sometime later, but until then here's my take on them:

From left to right, first we have your president, Adriana Robles. She put her hair in a bun specifically to be tall and fierce. Watch out for this one.

Then there's Johnny Efstathiades, your well-to-do homeless man/vice president. He's Greek and don't let him forget it.

Next to him that's Devin Lee, who is devin-it-lee going to do a good job as treasurer. Devinitlee. Everyone likes him, which is usually a sign that something is wrong, but I can vouch for him.

That next one is Ishin Iwisaki, your secretary extraordinaire. He's stereotypically good at everything but uncommonly nice about it. He's got big shoes to fill but I understand that Ishin has large feet so that's good.

Last and definitely most important, is your new historian, Vanessa Gutierrez. Historian is not to be messed with, because we can and will erase you from the history books. So to speak. She's been a great photographer this year and we all look forward to what she'll do in her term, carrying the torch and attempting to entertain you folks.

MORE IMPORTANTLY, there's a couple other things going on this week. This Wednesday our usual Academy Show will be instead at the Brew Spot Cafe from 6-8pm. The Facebook event is here.

Lastly here's the poster for our final GatorNights show of the year, the final show for many of our seniors, and the last show in the Orange & Brew (as we know it) ever! EVER. Let that sink in. We'll be honoring our seniors with a special tribute and there'll be lots of teary eyes, so be sure to show up!

Thanks for a great year you all, you've been a great audience, I've been Jonathan good night!

March Gladness Attacks!

Hey dyou like BASKETBALL?!
Haha well too bad you get to laugh and be amazed instead! TSF is teaming up with two other incredibly talented UF organizations—The Staff (acapella group) and Floridance (dance troupe)—to put on a show that celebrates everyone's favorite month.
What's more, in addition to being titillated by TSF's house teams (Apprentice Group, Delta Group, and the Sunday Group), you'll get to see something super special! Presenting the winner of this year's TSF Cage Match improv tournament: Good Look! Composed of Santos Contreras, Taylor Gonzalez, Dylan Rigsby, and Adrian Jiminez, Good Look killed off 14 other teams to take the crown and this is their reward, so DEFINITELY COME SEE THIS SHOW! Here's the Facebook event, tell everyone you know!
Also, as a programming note, TSF raised $6000 for Relay for Life this past Friday night, taking 2nd place overall, 2nd best-looking campsite, and we won a tent! Wahoo!
Last thing of note, Nominations for TSF officer positions are next Monday night after Academy. We'll be having a general body meeting, so if you're still not qualified to be a voting member (must attend two general body meetings, perform in two shows, and be a UF student), this will count towards the two meetings needed.

Battle to the Death

TSF competes at tournaments like the College Improv Tournament (CIT) every year, and now we're bringing the competition back to Gainesville with Cage Match 2013! 15 teams of TSF improvisers will be competing in gladatorial improv combat all afternoon, killing off the weaklings so that only the strongest survive to entertain you! Come see the finals, in which the best 5 teams will compete for the grand prize, starting at 8pm in Reitz Union room 282! There will be a panel of all star judges, tons of laughs, and more?!
Furthermore, on a philanthropical note, TSF will be at Relay for Life this Friday/Saturday! We're doing so well at fundraising that they're giving us A TENT. Yeah we're BAMFs. Come see us and bring money, so you can pay us to Jumanji your friends, in which we send improvisers dressed up like animals to attack them!
If you're feeling generous, make sure to throw some cash our way, all in the name of fighting cancer! With your help, we have a serious shot at raising the most money overall at Relay this year!
